Keep Grinding

Hello Foodservice Family,

I have to tell you I have an amazing job. Sometimes I can’t believe I get paid for this. (Maybe I shouldn’t say things like that too loud) But it’s true, I do love my job, and that is a blessing. Like my dad always said, when you love what you do and do what you love, it never feels like work. Thanks Pops.

One of the things that make my job so satisfying is developing cool recipe ideas with our products for you. The other is training and meeting hard working individuals like you, grinding it out, making a difference one meal at a time. “EVERYDAY”!

Speaking of grinding, I recently had the honor of doing a presentation at West Point. “GO ARMY”! Family, I have to tell you, they get it done in those kitchens. It was truly impressive to see how efficient they run their operations. I guess you have to be in order to feed 4500 cadets in a matter of minutes 3 times a day. “Now that’s putting in work folks”.

Kitchen Brethren Rise Up

I have to take another moment to shout out to all the hard working people in kitchens all over the land, especially my bakery people, because quite frankly, people sometimes don’t know how hard it is being chefs or kitchen employees. People calling in sick, working when you’re sick, not getting a lunch break, working 12 hours in the same spot without a bathroom break, working in cramped areas, 2 people doing the job of 7, etc., etc. You know I can go all day with this, but this newsletter has to end at some point.

The point I’m trying to make is, through all these challenges you face daily, you still manage to get it done. And, on top of all that you make it look effortless. I’ll say it again, “EFFORTLESS”, and that is so often overlooked and underappreciated. We should be honorary firefighters with all the fires we put out behind the scenes. “That’s right I said it!”

You might be thinking, then why do it. Why work with that many challenges? I’ve asked myself that same question, many times. Well for me the answer is a simple one, love. Crazy, right? We love what we do, (well most of us do anyway, and some out there don’t give a rip). Take care of that one foodservice family.

Anyway, as always check out some of the coolest ideas we have to offer. It’s Thanksgiving time. You won’t have to grind that hard to create these recipes, I promise.

Happy Holidays,

Catch ya later.
