Timothy Trainor

Corporate Chef

Chef Tim Trainor is an expert in all types of pizza crust. From flour used to create scratch crust to frozen dough and beyond, Chef Tim knows General Mills Foodservice products inside and out. He shares his foodservice expertise by inviting operators into the kitchen to break down the technical aspects of baking, help with troubleshooting and menu development, and build confidence.

“I love interacting with our customers and earning their confidence to trust me with making decisions that will help them succeed.”

Before joining General Mills in 1999, Chef Tim worked in product development, country-club foodservice, Hy Vee Food Stores, and sales—but not before pursuing a degree and career in criminal justice! Chef Tim is a Certified Baker and has an associate degree in culinary arts from Kirkwood Community College. He joined the Chefs of the Mills team in 2003.

In addition to his chef duties, Chef Tim is a volunteer firefighter and co-founder of the Minnesota Fire Fighter’s Foundation—a nonprofit that works with Minnesota fire departments to support cancer awareness by providing particulate hoods.
