By submitting your recipe, you accept all contest rules and agree to be bound by the decisions of the Judges, which will be final. You also agree that your recipe(s) becomes the sole property of General Mills, and General Mills reserves the right to edit, adapt, copyright, publish, transfer and use any or all of them, without compensation.

SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK REMEDIES AND DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEY’S FEES) FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
How will recipes be judged?
All entries must meet the requirements of the contest entry criteria. Recipes not meeting contest entry criteria will be disqualified. Entries must be the original recipe of the entrant. Judging will be done by an independent judging agency and food professionals (collectively, the “Judges”) to confirm appropriate use of one or more eligible products in addition to consideration of the criteria outlined below (collectively, the “Judging Criteria”) and weighted equally:
- Foodservice Viability
Judges will disqualify previously published recipes, such as but not limited to those in cookbooks, in magazines, online, from food companies, and winners in recipe contests, unless the recipe features changes considered significant by the Judges in their sole and absolute discretion. Finalists will be required to certify, on information or belief, that their recipes are their original creation and have not been published or publicized and have not been recognized as a winner in a recipe contest. Judges reserve the right to change recipe names or assign entries to the Recipe Category they deem appropriate. Decisions of the Judges are final in all matters relating to this contest.
HOW WILL Finalists BE SELECTED?
Judges will select six (6) recipes from all eligible entries received, two (2) recipes in each of the recipe categories, using the Judging Criteria listed above. The entrants whose recipes are selected by the Judges will become contest finalists (each, a “Finalist”). In the event that fewer than six eligible recipes are submitted, the judges may select fewer than six finalist recipes. If your recipe is one of the six finalist recipes, you will be notified via email on or about May 22, 2017.
What happens if I BECOME A FINALIST?
Finalists will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility, a confidentiality agreement and a liability release/assignment of rights giving General Mills and its nominees full rights to use the Finalist's name, likeness, image and voice for contest-related advertising and publicity, including such usage on the Internet, and return it within five (5) business days of receipt of notification. General Mills will advise Finalists of their status and of further contest procedures and policies after review of all documents submitted.
Once confirmed by General Mills as an official Finalist, General Mills may advise Finalists of further contest procedures and policies, and all Finalists agree to comply with such procedures. Finalists may not participate in any third party promotional efforts without General Mills’ permission. Finalists are required to participate in the Grand Prize Recipe Winner Announcement June 13-15, 2017 if selected as a Recipe Winner. Any Finalist who does not comply with these requirements, cannot be easily located at the address or phone number provided, or who is unable to attend the Grand Prize Recipe Winner Announcement or any subsequent promotional appearances required by General Mills will not be allowed to compete and will not be eligible for any prize. If a Finalist becomes unable to compete for any reason, General Mills may attempt to replace that Finalist with an alternate, provided that the alternate can comply with the conditions stated above. General Mills in its sole discretion may also choose not to replace any Finalist(s).
HOW WILL RECIPE WINNERS AND THE GRAND PRIZE RECIPE WINNER BE SELECTED?
During the selection of the Recipe Winner recipes, Judges will score each Finalist recipe using the Judging Criteria, and the points assigned to each Finalist recipe by each judge will be combined for a total score (the “Total Score”). To determine the Recipe Winner winning recipes, the Finalist recipes receiving the three (3) highest Total Scores will each be deemed a Recipe Winner winning recipe (each, a “Recipe Winner”). The remaining three (3) Finalist recipes not deemed Recipe Winners will be deemed Honorable Mentions (each, an “Honorable Mention”). In the event of a tie between two or more Finalist recipes, the recipe receiving the highest score for the Creativity Judging Criteria will be designated a Recipe Winner or Honorable Mention. The grand prize recipe winner (the “Grand Prize Recipe Winner”) will be determined by comparing the Total Scores for each of the three Recipe Winner recipes. The Recipe Winner with the highest Total Score will be deemed the Grand Prize Recipe Winner. The Recipe Winner with the second highest Total Score will be deemed the First Place Recipe Winner, and the Recipe Winner with the third highest Total Score will be deemed the Second Place Recipe Winner. In the event of a tie between two or more of the Recipe Winner Total Scores, the Recipe Winner recipe receiving the most points for the Creativity Judging Criteria will be designated the winner of the tie.
HOW WILL THE RECIPE WINNERS AND GRAND PRIZE RECIPE WINNER BE ANNOUNCED?
The six Finalists will be notified by General Mills of their prize winning status on or about May 22, 2017. The three (3) Finalists selected by the Judges as Recipe Winners will each be invited to attend the Grand Prize Recipe Winner Announcement in Minneapolis, MN on June 14, 2017 at which the Grand Prize Recipe Winner for the Neighborhood to Nation Recipe Contest will be announced. Finalists selected by the Judges as Honorable Mentions will be awarded their prize via postal mail.

No compensation will be awarded in lieu of the difference in the approximate retail value for the trip. Travel must be made through General Mills’ agent, on a carrier of General Mills’ choice. In the event a Recipe Winner and/or his or her guests engage in behavior that (as determined by General Mills in its sole discretion) is obnoxious or threatening, illegal or that is intended to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person, General Mills reserves the right to terminate the trip or other applicable experience early, in whole or in part, and send the Recipe Winner and/or his or her guests home with no further compensation.
