Almond Sour Cream Drop Biscuits

Sweet, rich biscuits get a sprinkling of toasted almonds. Delish!

Sour cream
1 lb
2 cups
Vanilla extract
2 Tbsp
Nutmeg, ground
1 Tbsp
Brown sugar, packed

Almond extract
1 Tbsp
Lemon juice
2 oz
1/4 cup
Topping
  1. Toast sliced almonds in oven set at 350°F for 5-7 minutes or until light brown; cool.
  2. Set aside 2 cups for topping.
  3. Mix remaining 1/2 cup toasted almonds and 1/4 cup brown sugar in small mixing bowl until well blended.
  4. Set aside.
Biscuits
  1. Mix water, sour cream, vanilla and nutmeg in mixing bowl using rubber spatula until well blended.
  2. Add 2 cups toasted sliced almonds, brown sugar, almond extract and lemon juice; mix well.
  3. Add biscuit mix. Mix using a rubber spatula approx. 30 strokes or until soft dough forms. DO NOT OVERMIX.
  4. Deposit 3 oz (#12 scoop) of dough in 4x6 placement on lightly greased or parchment-lined full sheet pans.
  5. Deposit a pinch of the topping evenly on each biscuit; press into dough lightly.
  6. Bake as directed below.
