The Biskies Contest (“Contest”) is sponsored by General Mills, Inc. (“General Mills” or “Sponsor”), Number One General Mills Boulevard, Minneapolis, MN 55426.


Create an original, unique recipe (entrée, side dish or dessert) using the new Pillsbury™ Southern Style Unbaked Biscuit product (and at least 2 other ingredients) and post or upload a photo of your completed dish as further described in these Official Rules. The top 4 recipes as determined by a judging panel and public vote will win prize money awarded to the commercial restaurant operation as defined below (“Restaurant”) on behalf of which the entrant submits their entry. The Contest begins at 12:00 a.m. Central Time (CST) on Feb. 1, 2023 and ends at 11:59 p.m. CST on Mar. 31, 2023 (“Contest Period”). All entries must be submitted by Mar. 31, 2023, to be eligible.


Grand Prize: One (1) grand prize winner will receive $20,000 (awarded as a check to the Restaurant).

Recipe Category Prizes: Three (3) winners will receive $5,000 (awarded as a check to the Restaurant.) One (1) winner will be chosen from each of the following recipe categories (“Recipe Categories”): side dish, entrée, and dessert. The final determination of whether an Entry qualifies as an entrée, side dish or dessert will be decided by the Judges.

Total value of all prizes: $35,000. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. Prize awards are subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules. All federal, state and local taxes and any other costs and expenses associated with the prize acceptance not specified herein as being provided are the sole responsibility of the winner. General Mills reserves the right to substitute a prize (or portion thereof) with one of comparable or greater value in its sole discretion. Limit of one prize per Restaurant/entrant. Prizes are awarded “as is” without any warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by General Mills. Prizes are non-assignable and non-transferable and cannot be substituted except at the sole discretion of General Mills. All prize details are at the sole discretion of General Mills. General Mills reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, cancel or suspend part or all of this Contest. The Contest is void where prohibited or otherwise regulated. All federal, state and local laws apply.


You are eligible to enter if you are 18 years of age or older as of Jan. 31, 2023, and are Restaurant chef, owner, or employee and are a legal United States resident residing in one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia at the time of Contest entry. By entering this Contest, you are entering on behalf of your employer, the Restaurant.

A commercial restaurant operation is defined as a restaurant owned and operated by an individual, family, group of people, business or corporation and includes commercial food truck operations. Commercial food truck operation is defined as a mobile vehicle equipped to cook and sell food that is owned and operated by an individual, family or group of people, business or corporation. A commercial kitchen may be used for food prep.

You are not eligible to enter and will be disqualified if:

  • Entering the Contest is in violation of your employer’s policies;
  • You have previously been a finalist or a winner in 3 or more prior General Mills Recipe Contests;
  • You are an employee of a consumer and/or foodservice packaged goods manufacturing company;
  • You or a member of your immediate family (parent, children, siblings, spouse, regardless of where they live) are an employee of General Mills or any of their respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, or any promotion, advertising, judging or public relations company doing business with any of the above, or any of their respective parents, subsidiaries and affiliated companies, or you live the same household of such employees (whether related or not).

  1. To enter online, go to and submit your photo of your original recipe creation featuring Pillsbury’s new Southern Style Unbaked Biscuit product using the online entry form.
  2. To enter via Facebook, visit , click on the post announcing the Contest and follow the online instructions to upload your photo of your original recipe creation featuring Pillsbury’s new Southern Style Unbaked Biscuit product.. Submissions via the story stream are NOT allowed and will not be entered into the Contest.
  3. To enter via Instagram, upload your photo of your original recipe creation featuring Pillsbury’s new Southern Style Unbaked Biscuit product and tag @generalmillscf and use the hashtag #thebiskiescontest. Please also include your restaurant’s website or Facebook page, if you have one in your comment or caption. Restaurant website or Facebook page are not a requirement to enter the Contest. . Submissions via the story stream are NOT allowed and will not be entered into the Contest.. Your Instagram account must be public to enter using this method.

Use of automated processes and devices, script, macro or any other means which subvert the entry process are not permitted and all such entries will be void. Only Entries submitted via one of the 3 methods identified above will be accepted. Entries submitted via any other method, including but not limited to U.S. Postal Service, facsimile or other express delivery services, will NOT be accepted.

Entry Requirements:

  • Photo must clearly show your creation as it would be served, with all toppings included;
  • Recipe must be original;
  • Recipe must use Pillsbury’s new Southern Style Unbaked Biscuit product as a recipe ingredient, plus at least two (2) other ingredients;
  • Recipes must use ingredients that are easily accessible and not cost prohibitive for a Restaurant;
  • Photo must be unique and not previously submitted into the Contest as part of an Entry. The same image cannot be entered into the Contest more than one time.
  • Photo may not contain any content that is lewd, obscene, sexually explicit, pornographic or contains nudity, disparaging, defamatory, derogatory toward any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group, libelous, obscene, or that otherwise contains inappropriate content or objectionable material as determined by Sponsor in its sole and unfettered discretion.
  • The Photo must not promote alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing), promote any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous or promote any particular political agenda or message.
  • Photo must not defame, misrepresent or contain disparaging remarks about Sponsor, other people or companies.
  • Image file for upload can be no larger than 3MB.
  • Contest entries will be accepted from February 1, 2023 to March 31, 2023.

Entry must be the original work of the entrant, may not have been previously published, may not have won previous awards, and must not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity.

By submitting an Entry, entrant acknowledges and agrees that Sponsor may obtain many Entries in connection with this Contest and/or other contests staged and/or promoted by the Sponsor, and that such Entries may be similar or identical in theme, idea, format or other respects to other Entries submitted in connection with this Contest and/or other contests sponsored by the Sponsor or submitted for other reasons or other materials developed by the Sponsor on its own. Entrant waives any and all claims entrant may have had, may have, and/or may have in the future, that any Entry and/or other works accepted, reviewed and/or used by the entrant may be similar to his/her Entry, or that any compensation is due to entrant in connection with such Entry or other works used by Sponsor.

By submitting an Entry, entrant hereby grants permission for the Entry to be posted on Facebook and Instagram and in other online and offline media designated by Sponsor without any limitations or restrictions. Entrant agrees that Released Parties (as defined below) are not responsible for any unauthorized use of Entries by third parties. Released Parties do not guarantee the posting of any Entry and reserve the right to remove any posted Entry at any time or for any reason whatsoever. Entrants agree that they will not use the Entry for any other purpose, including, without limitation, posting the Entry to any online social media networks, without the express written consent of Sponsor in each instance.

By submitting an Entry, each entrant agrees Sponsor shall own the Entry submitted (including the copyright thereto and all rights embodied therein) and that it and its designees may exploit, edit, modify, and distribute the Entry and all elements of such Entry, including, without limitation, the names and likenesses of any persons or locations embodied therein, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, worldwide, in perpetuity without compensation, permission or notification to entrant or any third party.

By participating, each entrant agrees that his/her Entry complies with these Official Rules and that Sponsor and the judges’ decisions shall be final and legally binding in all matters relating to the Contest. Sponsor or judges, in their sole discretion, may disqualify an Entry for any reason, including if they determine, in their sole discretion, that the Entry fails to confirm to these Official Rules in any way or otherwise contains unacceptable content as they determine in their sole discretion.

The actual, physical Entry shall become the sole property of General Mills upon receipt and will not be acknowledged or returned.



All Entries must meet the Contest requirements and comply with these Official Rules to be eligible. Entries must be the original recipe of the entrant.

Judging Phase: Following the Contest Period, all eligible entries received will be judged by the Chefs of the Mills (“Judges”) based on the following criteria:

  • Originality (25%)
  • Foodservice Viability (25%)
  • Creativity of Recipe (25%)
  • How well the recipe incorporates Pillsbury’s new Southern Style Unbaked Biscuit product (25%)

The three (3) Entries with the highest scores from the Judges from each of the 3 Recipe categories (as determined by the Judges) will be deemed a finalist (each, a “Category Finalist”). In the event of a tie, the Category Finalist among the tied potential Finalists with the highest score from the Judges for the “Originality” judging criteria will be declared a Category Finalist. Sponsor reserves the right to choose fewer Potential Finalists if, in its sole discretion, it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified Entries.

Judges will disqualify previously published recipes, such as but not limited to those in cookbooks, in magazines, online, from food companies, and winners in recipe contests, unless the recipe features changes considered significant by the judges in their sole and absolute discretion. Finalists will be required to certify, on information or belief, that their recipes are their original creation and have not been published or publicized and have not been recognized as a winner in a recipe contest. Judges reserve the right to change recipe names, edit, adapt or modify entries as they deem appropriate. Decisions of the judges are final in all matters relating to this contest.

Voting Phase:

The three (3) Category Finalists’ Entries from each of the 3 Recipe Categories will be placed online at the Contest Website for public voting following the Judging phase at from April 10, 2023 at 12:00 a.m. CST to April 30, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. CST (the “Voting Period”). During the Voting Period, consumers who are 18 years of age or older as of Jan. 31, 2023 and are residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, will be able to vote for their favorite recipe using the judging criteria above. Limit one vote per person per category during the Voting Period. The one (1) Category Finalist with the highest number of total votes overall during the Voting Period will be awarded the Grand Prize. In addition, each Category Finalist with the next highest number of votes in each respective Recipe Category will be awarded the Recipe Category Prize for that respective Recipe Category. In the event of a tie between two or more of the Category Recipe Winner total votes, the Category Recipe Winner recipe receiving the most points in the Judging Criteria will be designated the winner of the tie.

The Grand Prize winner and each of the 3 Recipe Category winners will be notified of their prize-winning status via the email provided in the entry form or via direct messaging on the social media application on which he/she entered on approximately May 17, 2023. Prize awards are subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules. A potential winner must be able to provide proof that he/she is eligible to be deemed an official winner to Sponsor and/or Administrator’s satisfaction before being declared an official winner (“Official Winner”). If the Contest Site fails for any reason any Entry received during that time will be deemed a defective Entry.

In the event that a potential Winner is disqualified for any reason, fails or refuses to claim his or her prize for any reason, or a prize is unclaimed, the prize will be forfeited and Sponsor will select an alternate winner by applying the judging criteria above. Prizes will be awarded "as is" with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied offered by Sponsor.

General Conditions: General Mills, its promotional and advertising agencies, and any other organizations affiliated with the sponsorship, fulfillment, administration, prize support of the Contest, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, and prize suppliers, and each of their respective successors, representatives and assigns (collectively, “Released Parties”) shall have no liability and shall be held harmless for any damage, loss or liability to any person or property, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, be reason of the acceptance, use or misuse of the prize or participation in this Contest. Released Parties are no responsible for lost, late, delayed, destroyed, misdirected, garbled, incomplete, inaccurate, stolen or otherwise undeliverable Entries or registrations that cannot be processed due to phone, network, electronic or computer hardware or software failure, or technical failures of any kind, whether caused by Released Parties, entrants, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest or by any technical or human error which may occur in the processing of Entries or registrations, the announcement of prizes, or which may damage a user’s system or limit an entrant’s ability to participate in the Contest. Released Parties are not responsible for any changes, effect or damages caused to the entrant’s computer system as a result of participation in the Contest. General Mills reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual that tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or website or violates the Official Rules. General Mills reserves the right in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest should virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, fraud or other causes corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the Contest. In the even of such cancellation or termination, General Mills reserves the right to determine the potential winner from among all eligible, non-suspect Entries received prior to such action using the Judging Criteria detailed herein. In the event of a dispute regarding Entries received from multiple users having the same email account, the authorized subscriber of the email account at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant and must comply with these Official Rules. Authorized account subscriber is the natural person who is assigned the email address by the Internet Service Provider (ISP), on-line service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses. Winners, by acceptance of the prize, except where legally prohibited, grants permission for Sponsor and its designees to use his/her name, address, photograph, voice and/or other likeness and prize information for advertising, trade and promotional purposes in all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide in perpetuity, without further compensation or notification to, or permission from entrant or any other third party.

Disputes: All issues and disputes regarding any aspect of this Contest, including, but not limited to the construction, interpretation and enforceability of these official rules, shall be governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to principles of conflicts of laws. All suits and claims shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction situation in Minneapolis, Minnesota. General Mills reserves the right to cancel this Contest at its sole discretion.
