An on-the-go generation: why Gen Z craves grab ‘n go

why-gen-z-craves-grab-hero

For Generation Z, on-the-go meals are a daily ritual that they value more than their Millennial counterparts. In one Y Pulse study, 66% of Gen Z participants reported on-the-go eating—compared to only 57% of Millennials.¹

With only a limited time available in the lunchroom each day, students value grab ‘n go for their midday meals. Portability is great for notoriously busy Gen Z students, giving them the option to eat before class, before practice, or even on the commute home.

Get in on the trend by making sure your cafeteria and to-go kiosks are full of grab ‘n go options. Go beyond basic with these filling, elevated options students can eat between classes or stash away for later:

YoGo Coolers

YoGo Coolers

Bring a coffee shop atmosphere to your grab ‘n go kiosk! YoGo Cooler coffee-flavored smoothies count as a 1 meat alternate because of their high protein content. Add a lid and compostable straw so students can take them on the go.

Parfait

Parfaits

With Vanilla, Strawberry and NEW Blueberry Yoplait® ParfaitPro®, you can serve up delicious, portable yogurt parfaits in half the time. Serve in a clamshell or add a lid to a parfait cup to make them portable. Try a few fun, outside-the-box recipes from our Layer Lab recipe book!

Freezer-to-Oven Bakery

Freezer-to-Oven Bakery

Offer all kinds of tasty baked goods like Blueberry and Chocolate Chip Muffin Tops, gooey Cinnamon Rolls and more. Simply place and bake for the fresh-baked flavor and aroma that your students will love. Package them up in a bakery bag so they can save ‘em for later.
