This humble version of a cheeseburger is getting a facelift with the addition of a crispy buttery biscuit.

Cheddar cheese, sliced

Caramelized onions, prepared

Burgers
  1. Season burger patties with salt and pepper; cook on griddle 3-4 minutes per side until cooked through.
  2. Hold warm for Assembly.
Assembly
  1. Split baked biscuits in half while warm.
  2. Spread 1/2 tsp Thousand Island dressing onto the bottom half of the biscuit.
  3. Layer on 1/2 slice of cheddar cheese, 1 cooked burger, 1 Tbsp caramelized onions, remaining 1/2 slice cheddar cheese and top half of biscuit.
Finishing
  1. Melt butter onto preheated griddle surface.
  2. Griddle sandwiches on both sides (2-3 minutes each) until crisp and cheese is melted; serve immediately.
