Fried Pork Cheddar Sammies with Apple Caramel

Southerleigh Fine Food and Brew got creative when they moved to an all take-out menu. The 2020 Neighborhood to Nation contest winning sandwich stacked comfort foods in a Pillsbury™ Place & Bake™ Jalapeño Cheddar Scone: a battered pork chop, Cheddar cheese, and sweet twist -- simmered carameled apples, reminiscent of the classic pairings of cheddar and apple pie, and pork and apples. 1. Cook apples in small saucepan over medium heat until softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in brown sugar and baking soda.
  3. Cook an additional 5 minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. Add heavy cream, stirring constantly about 2 minutes.
